Private well owners are responsible for their own water quality, and coastal plain geology in Horry, Georgetown, and Brunswick counties commonly produces iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide, and tannins.
Well water pricing varies more than city water because the treatment train depends entirely on what is in the water. A home with 1 ppm of iron needs a very different system than a home with tannins, sulfur odor, and 6 ppm of iron.
That is why we test first. The free in-home test tells us which stages you actually need so you are not paying for equipment that does not address your water.

- Your well's flow rate and pressure tank condition, which determine equipment sizing.
- Water pH, which affects how effectively iron and manganese can be removed.
- Whether bacteria are present, which may call for shock chlorination and UV disinfection.
- Space, drain access, and electrical availability at the well house or utility area.
- Whether you want a dedicated drinking water stage such as reverse osmosis.

Why can't you quote a price over the phone?
Well water chemistry varies from one property to the next, sometimes on the same street. Quoting without a test would either oversell you equipment or undersize the system.
How often should I test my well?
Annually at minimum for bacteria and nitrates, and again after any flooding event, well repair, or noticeable change in taste, odor, or color.
Can you fix rotten-egg smell in well water?
That odor is hydrogen sulfide gas. It is commonly addressed with oxidation and filtration; the right approach depends on the concentration and whether iron or bacteria are also present.
